GSDI Organizational Issues
Whatever GSDI organization emerges from this meeting should have the job of:
- Coordinating with the work of the stakeholder organizations (this conference and others like it serve that purpose)
- Managing the development of a interoperability framework by formulating and invoking a GSDI Technical Working Group (TECHNOLOGY CONSENSUS... one is proposed already)
- Facilitating the construction of a working GSDI pilot (or, better, multiple pilots) utilizing the interoperability framework and taking lessons learned as adjustments to the framework (TECHNOLOGY INITIATIVES to build the GSDI by example, from the bottom up)
- Educating the potential GSDI participants of the value of connecting with the emergent interoperability framework implementation
